50's Period Hair Charts

We have to choose a decade and create a period and a contemporary hairstyle on our wigs. I chose the 1950's. I am still looking into what kind of hairstyle I want to do, but I really like the pin up looks. This means I will have victory rolls as a part of my design. Some face charts are only showing the front of the look as I really want to focus on choosing what kind of victory roll to create. 

My wig is slightly longer than the lenght they used to have in the 1950's, but I didn't want to cut it as I want it that lenght for my contemporary look that I am doing the week after this assessment. That is why I will most likely have the hair up.

The wig will be set with rollers beforehand.

Haircharts

1st Look: 

This hairstyle is quite simple. Two victory rolls going towards eachother at the centre of the head. The rest of the hair brushed out, wavy.

2nd Look: 

A more sophisticated hairdo; side parting and two victory rolls joining where the parting is. Sides pulled back with the rest of the hair into a low twisted bun (kind of a victory roll, too).

3rd Look

Three victory rolls; a larger one in the middle with two smaller rolls, one on each side, going inwards. Curls at the back pinned on top of the head.

4th Look

Side parting. Larger section sectioned and twisted into two victory rolls; bigger than the other. Another roll on the other side of the head, facing the opposite direction.

A pony tail at the back.

Middle parting. Two victory rolls twisted away from the face. Sides pulled back and pinned. Curls at the back brushed out, wavy.

Side parting and two victory rolls. Larger roll pulled out creating the so call 'sophistiacted' victory roll.

7th Look

A larger roll at the front going inwards. One victory roll on each side. 

Similar to the 3rd look, but the smaller rolls are twisted the other way around and the big roll is in a half moon shape.

8th Look

Side parting and two victory rolls. Sides sleek and pulled back into a wavy ponytail that is secured with a ribbon.

9th Look

One big victory roll in the middle of the forehead. The rest of the hair curled; glamorous waves, brushed inwards. 
Probably more of a 1940's look, but these were still around in the early 1950's.

10th Look

Curls/ waves created with heated rollers. Fringe backcombed to create extra lift. Ends of the hair rolled in - because my wig is longer, and this is a Marilyn Monroe ispired hairstyle.
