How To Put On A Lace Wig

To put on a lace wig you have to prep the hair just like for any other wig. The only difference is that you have to glue a lace wig.

Use the sides of the wig to correctly place the wig onto your model's head. Then put the pins in on the sides, top and back of the head to secure the lace wig. Pull each pin through the wig and stocking cap and grab onto the pin curls. The glue is used to make the lace flat and not as visible around the hairline.
Apply the glue with a brush onto the face as well as the lace. Make sure you don't glue the hair under the lace. When the glue goes tacky take cotton wool wrapped in a pair of tights (there are other things you can use, but this is what we used) and smooth the lace down. If needed add more glue.
To take the wig off you use acetone or spirit gum remover and a cotton wool pad. You can leave it on for about a minute and it will disolve the glue. Or you can use a cotton bud and go under the lace and gently take off the glue.

I pin curled the front of my model's hair and wrapped the rest of the hair. Her hair was freshly washed which made it a bit difficult to work with. I made a mistake that I didn't leave out the hair at the nape of the neck for two pin curls, I didn't think of that at all! The wig that I put on Sophey was slightly too small for her as all of these wigs were custom made for other people. But I managed to put it on and pin it down.  However, I didn't to a good job, and I glued some of her hair, too.
